"More Beer."
When designing and building IT and Comms Infrastructure, like any endeavour, success is largely a result of getting more things right than wrong. Only experience, (learnt the hard way) tells us what can go wrong, and how to ensure that it doesn't.
We will probably know a lot more about what can fail than many internal IT departments, simply because we deal with a larger number of clients, topologies, requirements, and solutions, than an internal department would. Naturally, you will know a lot more about your own specific challenges - and by combining forces and working with IT departments, we can produce a better result than each of us could independently.
And when we get IT right first time, it means we have a lot more time left to enjoy a pint at the end of the week, or even to focus on more interesting and strategic projects than fault-finding. Ask your MD what he or she would rather have you working on.
Like you, we are also passionate about technology - we are geeks, and proud to be so. We also definitely enjoy socialising with our clients at our regular "Engineer's Tea Party" events, where we like to share a joke, a beer, and occasionally some interesting technical debates ;-)
